This object is designed to be used with LightWave Modeler, part of the VideoToaster
from NewTek, Inc.
It is a copy of a Fender Stratocaster - used by so many of the famous rock
guitarists.
To view this object, use 'LZ' to unarc the file to your RAM: disk.
The RGB images used for textures are JPEGged, so you will have to use the
Public Domain version of the JPEG utility to convert them to RGB images
(Available from the CIS libraries, search for JPEG). Or, you could use ADPro
to convert them from JPEG to RGB.
Then load the scene from within LightWave - everything is set to load from
the RAM: disk.
I am a independent VideoToaster artist working in the San Francisco Bay Area,
and am putting this object out as an example of the calibre of work I am capable
of supplying to paying customers.
I am also hoping to encourage other LightWave artists out there to put some of
their work on display.
Even though I have spent over 40 hours making it look photorealistic, I have
uploaded this file in the hope that other 3-D modelers will
share THEIR creations with the rest of us.
This is a GREATLY improved version of the Fender Stratocaster Guitar
object that was originally uploaded to CompuServe as an Imagine object.
Thanks go to the original uploader (who's name is now lost in antiquity
[I tried, but couldn't find it - sorry]), and to the folks at
Syndesis (makers of InterChange Plus for the Amiga) for converting
the original object into a format more recognizable by LightWave.
In essence, I took the original object, reduced it to the basic
outlines, and then rebuilt almost every object from scratch.
I also replaced some objects with more accurate versions - examples
include: Knobs, Frets, TuningPegs & Knobs, Screws, etc.
I have optimized the object for LightWave, and have about doubled the
number of points around critical edges - such as the body of the guitar,
and the pick guard. I have also created new surface attributes for virtually
every surface on the object.
Hopefully, others out there will be encouraged to upload their prize objects,
so that we can build a library of objects for general use.
